Curaçao cruise stop: how to arrange a car for a few hours

A port day can leave room for a beach visit, lunch or an independent drive. Before choosing a car, decide how much time you actually want to spend away from your ship. A shorter outing can be more comfortable than trying to fit the whole island into one stop.

1. Set up your account before arrival

Download the Master Rental app and complete registration ahead of your port day. Have your driving licence, identification and payment card ready. Check that your account is approved before relying on a car for your plans. The rental FAQ explains the basics.

2. Request a collection location

Contact Master Rental with your arrival date, ship name, intended rental hours and number of passengers. Ask whether a car can be placed near your arrival area. Placement depends on availability; confirm the meeting point and return arrangements before setting off. Do not assume collection is inside the cruise terminal.

3. Choose a plan for your outing

A brief drive and a day with several stops can suit different plans. Compare the selected car’s hourly option and day package in the app. Review time, pause, unlock and distance charges, plus any included allowances, before starting.

A deposit may be required for new or first-time riders. Included charging does not remove parking, admission or other separate costs. Check the app and rental terms for the conditions that apply to your booking.

4. Plan for battery and stops

Confirm the car’s charge before choosing your route. Charging is included through Master Rental’s supplied arrangement; ask which charging points and method to use. Read the driving and charging guide before you need it. Leave room in your schedule for stops and any charging.

5. Work backwards from all-aboard time

Check the ship’s all-aboard time and which local time applies with your cruise line. Allow a comfortable buffer for traffic, returning the car and getting back to the ship. Choose fewer stops if the timing feels tight.

At the agreed return location, follow the app’s closing steps and check that your rental has ended. If anything goes wrong, contact support promptly.
